WIP Wednesday: 12/7/11

The good news: sewing progress was made this week.

The bad news: none of it involved Christmas sewing.

The good news: this was my view:
The bad news: we weren't there nearly long enough!

Now for the sewing pictures. I'm cranking away at my Crazy Traditions donation quilt because I want to get it off to Mark's cousin for machine quilting by the beginning of January. Twelve blocks completed. Only four more to go!

Shimmering Star:

Hole in the Wheel:
My friend, Carla, sent me a lovely little gift for my birthday, and it arrived at the exact time I started on this block. It was the perfect color and you can see it right in the center of this triangle. Thanks, Carla!

Celtic Boxes:
Big Bang:

When I got to this luscious orange block, I thought it would be my favorite. But instead I wish I had changed some things around. And I still might. The center kinda bugs me.
Garden Maze:

When I started on this drab olive green block, I was anxious to be done with it. Turns out it is one of my favorites of the whole group!
And Gabriel turns two months today. Man, I hope I don't scar my grandchildren with the poetry rhyming lines on these fabric postcards.
See what I mean?

So that's what you were working on over the weekend! Beautiful blocks! But I still can't get over the idea that you were inside sewing with such amazing access to the beach.

Gorgeous blocks!! The first one is really my favorite:)

Your postcards remind me of the letters with drawings I used to get from my Grandma. So keep those postcards with rhyming going---they will treasure them.

It does look like a fabulous view for sewing.

Your blocks are all wonderful. The greens are my favorite too.

Santa Barbara area? Looks awfully familiar!

Beach view? And you took your machine? Where were you? We should organize a retreat there!

Love the postcard with its sly humor--it will be a treasure.

Those blocks are breathtaking--I love the orange, but yes, that olive one is luscious! I want to play, but am stuck grading research papers--soon, soon.

Oh wow, now that's a view I could happily embrace right now (given that there's snow and hail and sleet outside here!) Love those blocks you produce though, including the orange centre :o)

Lovely view, I don't think I'd get much sewing done either. The blocks are beautiful.

Fabulous job on those blocks, Cindy! That quilt will be stunning. I like the orange centre -- what's bothering you about it exactly?

Will the orange and the blue blocks be next to each other? I think they play well together.

Wow! I'm not sure I'd get any sewing done at all if that was the view...

Rhyming postcards from Grandma are treats that end up in treasure boxes. :-)
